Miller services held

AMass of Christian Burial for Jean (Maslin) Miller was celebrated Wednesday, January 11, 2012, at 10 a.m. at the Blessed Trinity Parish Saint James Church in Waverly.

Family and friends called Tuesday, January 10, from 4 - 7 p.m. at the Luckner Funeral Home, 449 Park Avenue, Waverly, N.Y.

Jean Miller was laid to rest in Lockwood Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Irvine

Dorothea E. Irvine, 98, passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior on January 9, 2012, at her home in Lockwood, N.Y., with her beloved daughter by her side.

A service celebrating Dorothea’s life will be held at Chemung Christian Fellowship on Saturday, January 14, 2012, at 2 p.m., with Pastor Randy Stilson officiating, assisted by Dorothea’s brother, the Rev. William C. Wells. Prior to the service, family and friends may call beginning at 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Dorothea’s memory may be made to Chemung Christian Fellowship.

Murphy

Genevieve Crawn Murphy, 92, widow of Ray Fenton Murphy of Sheshequin Township, Pa., passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at Memorial Hospital, Towanda, Pa.

The funeral and committal service will be held Saturday, January 14, 2011 at noon at the Ulster United Methodist Church, Second St. Ulster, Pa., with the Rev. Sandy Brant officiating.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at the church. Interment will be in the Bradford County Memorial Park Luthers Mills, Pa.

Donald A. Burlingame, age 74, of Waverly, N.Y., passed away in Waverly, New York, Wednesday, January 11, 2012.

Atime of gathering with family and friends will be from 10 -11 a.m., Friday, January 13, 2012, at Blauvelt Funeral Home, 625 Broad Street, Waverly, New York. The celebration of Don’s life will follow the visitation with the Rev. Anne Bey Canfield honoring his memory at 11 a.m. A special tribute to Don’s life will be presented on DVD during the funeral service.

Nancy C. Shaw, 72, of Sayre, Pa., passed away on December 24, 2011 at the Troy Community Hospital with her family by her side. She was born on August 18, 1939, in the family home.

Amemorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday January 14, 2012 at 10 a.m., at the Church of the Epiphany Sayre, Pa. Burial will take place at the convenience of her family in the Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, along side husband, Joseph.

Walter Robert Rieck, C.R.N.A., 88, of 6492 Liberty Corners Road, Towanda, Asylum Twp., Pa., passed away Tuesday morning, January 10, 2012 at his home.

The funeral and committal service will be held Friday, January 13, 2011 at 1 p.m. at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, 217 York Ave., Towanda, Pa., with Pastor Larry Scouten of the First Baptist Church of Wellsburg, N.Y., officiating.

Towanda American Legion Post No. 42 will accord military honors at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Liberty Corners Cemetery, Monroe Twp., Pa.The family will receive friends on Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Johnston

William (Billy) E. Johnston Jr., 41, also known to his loved ones as “Bipp,” was a loving, caring, adventurous man who loved his music, and the Dallas Cowboys.

Billy’s life was cut short sometime between November 15, 2011, and December 31, 2011, when he was found after being missing from the Town of Barton, N.Y.

Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service on Friday January 13, 2012, at 3 p.m. at the Jesus Church. The church is located at 7797 St. Rt. 417, Addison, N.Y.
