Bernetta “Bernie” E. Abrams, 83, of Sayre, Pa., passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2012, at Robert Packer Hospital.

She was born on February 21, 1928, in Elmira, N.Y., the daughter of (the late) Harold and Anna Brundidge Kent.

Bernie was an avid Bingo player. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Bernie enjoyed traveling and camping, especially going to Myrtle Beach and going to garage sales.

She is predeceased by her husband, John; daughter, Blanche Gregory; sisters, Pat and Nellie; brothers, Robert and Herbert; granddaughter, Tara Lynn Tappan; and grandson, Isaiah.

Bernie is survived by her children, Sharon and Jim Kimball of South Waverly, Pa., Alan and Marilyn Abrams of Bentley Creek, Pa., Pat and Doug Tappan of Athens, Pa., John (Russ) and Suzy Abrams of Norfolk, Va., Kathy and Keith Chapman of South Waverly, Pa., and Michael Abrams of Athens, Pa.; 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; her beloved brother, William Kent of Batavia, N.Y.

Aprivate service will be held at the convenience of the family. The family is being assisted by the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., Athens, Pa.

Burial will be in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, Pa.
