Shirley M. Moore, 86, of Sayre, Pa., passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at home following an extended illness.

She was born on March 31, 1925, in Athens, Pa., the daughter of the late Lewis and Minnie Mae Talladay Talada.

Shirley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a member of the Sayre Christian Church. Shirley worked at the Blue Swan Mills, as well as a crossing guard for Athens Area School District. She was an avid reader. Shirley will be noted for her sense of humor.

She is predeceased by her husband Walter; grandson, Jeffrey M. Moore; 11 brothers, sisters and their spouses, and lifelong friend Betty Stolicker.

Shirley is survived by her children, Steve and Nancy Moore of Litchfield, Pa., Jeffrey Moore of Sayre, Pa., and Lynne Lowell and significant other Mark Rutledge of Athens, Pa.; grandchildren Travis Moore and fiancé Nicki, Justin and April Moore, Kelley Moore, Nathan Lowell and fiancé Jessica Hunter, Keeley Lowell and fiancé David Sprowls; great-grandchildren Mattison Moore, Harmony Moore, Caroline Moore, Brayden Lowell, and Jonah Lowell; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and two life-long friends Bobbi Besecker and Anne Bailey.

Family and friends may call on Saturday, March 10, 2012, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, Pa. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. James Donahoo from Sayre Christian Church officiating.

Burial will be in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, Pa.
