Cynthia Bostwick, 88, of Athens, Pa., passed away unexpectedly on March 6, 2012, at the Robert Packer Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Mary Eleanor Allen Dickson and Harold Dickson.

Cynthia graduated from Sayre High School, class of 1941. She was a lifetime member of the Church of the Redeemer and an active member of St. Mary’s Guild and the Altar Guild.

She was predeceased by her husband, Gail Bostwick, her son, Garrett Sloat, the father of her children, William Sloat, brothers, Harold "Juddy" Dickson and William "Peanut" Dickson and sister, Nancy DeKay.

She is survived by her loving children,

Judith Sloat-Barkoff (Ira) of West Cornwall, Conn., and Elia Sloat (Emmanuel) of Boston, Mass.; grandson, Jeffrey Sloat (Cassandra) great-grandson, Lucas Tyler Sloat, and granddaughter, Kathryn Sloat, all of Fla.; her dear sister, Phoebe Marshall (David) of Sayre, Pa.; her sister-in-law, Joyce Klaus of N.Y.; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The celebration of Cynthia’s life will be at Saturday, March 10, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Redeemer, Sayre, Pennsylvania. Interment will follow in the Columbarium in the church.
