Lane services held

Leona Pearl (LaFritz) Lane, formerly of Waverly, New York and Athens, Pennsylvania, passed away Monday, March 12, 2012, in Elmira, New York.

A time of gathering with family and friends was from 5-6 p.m., Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at Blauvelt Funeral Home, 625 Broad Street, Waverly, New York. The celebration of Leona’s life followed the visitation with her family sharing memories at 6 p.m.

Loomis

George H. Loomis, 69, of 130 North East Street, Sayre, Pa., passed away early Tuesday morning, March 13, 2012 at his home following an extended illness.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Alteri-Bowen Funeral Home, 314 Desmond St., Sayre, Pa. A Para Stas service will be held at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

A Panakhyda service will be held Friday, March 16, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. at the Ascension of Our Lord Ukrainian Catholic Church, North Higgins Ave. in Sayre with the Rev. Teodor B. Czabala Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Athens Twp., Pa., with the Valley Color Guard according full military honors.

Gilluly

Beverly D. Gilluly, age 84, formerly of Perry, N.Y., died March 11, 2012 at the Sayre Health Care Center, formerly the Sayre House in Sayre, Pa.

She was predeceased by four sisters and one brother.

Friends may call Thursday 3 to 5 p.m. at Harmon-Watson Funeral Home, 35 N. Main St., Castile, where an Eastern Star service will be held immediately following calling hours followed by her funeral service. Private burial will be held at West Perry Cemetery, Perry. Rena M. Post, 72, of Litchfield, Pa., passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2012 at home.

Friends and family may call on Thursday, March 15, 2012 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, Pa. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. James Donahoo from the Sayre Christian Church officiating.

Burial will be in South Litchfield Cemetery.
