Frederick E. (Bud) Sweeney, of Sayre, Pa., passed away March 11, 2012. He was born March 13, 1925, the son of (the late) Fred E. and Catherine McGuirk Sweeney.

He was a 1943 graduate of Sayre High School, served with the U.S. Navy in World War II, and was retired from Stroehman Bakeries in Sayre. He was a life member of the VFW Post 1536.

He was predeceased by his parents, brother, Paul (Jean) Sweeney and sister, Maureen Sweeney.

He is survived by his sister Kathleen Sweeney and brother John (Charlotte) Sweeney of Sayre and several nieces and nephews.

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in the Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery in N. Towanda, Pa., with full military honors.

Amemorial Mass will be held at the Church of the Epiphany, Sayre, Pa., at a later date.
