Richard G. “Rick” Warner, 65
Richard G. “Rick” Warner, 65, of Sheshequin, Pa. passed away peacefully Friday morning, April 13, 2012 at his home following declining health.
“Rick” as he was known by his family and many friends was born January 21, 1947 in Apalachin, N.Y. the son of Gail L. Warner and Lillian “Billy” Button Warner.
He was a graduate of Athens Area High School class of 1964 and was subsequently employed as a precision machinist by Therm, Inc. in Ithaca, N.Y. for several years. He was later employed by Claverack Rural Electric Cooperative as a lineman and crew chief for many years until his retirement.
Rick was a board member of the Sheshequin Valley Cemetery Association and served on the Sheshequin Township Committee. Rick enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, caring for his home, property and horses and visiting with his friends at Bishop’s Restaurant in Ulster.
Surviving are: His wife of 38 years, Victoria “Vicky” Warner whom he married on July 28, 1973; children: Stephanie Lynn Warner of Jakarta, Indonesia, R. Todd Warner and wife Mindy S. Warner of Wimberley, Texas; grandchildren, Ellie, Halie and Clayton Warner of Wimberley, Texas; brother, Thomas Warner and wife Yvette of Park City, Utah; sister, Kathy Lattimer of Lumberton, NJ; mother-in-law, Esther Warner of Penney Farms, FL; niece, Laura Warner of Sheshequin, Pa.; and nephews, Terry Warner II and wife Robin of Sheshequin, Pa., Shawn Lattimer and wife Laray of Mt. Royal, N.J.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gail L. Warner in 1985; Mother, Lillian “Billy” Button Warner Stalford in 2001; step father, Scott Stalford in 2002; brother, Terry Royce Warner in 1997; brothers-in-law, Warren Lattimer in 2007 and Stephen Warner in 1970 and fatherin law, Harold L. Warner in 1999.
The family will receive friends Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Bowen-Farr Funeral Home, 6 Gordon Farr St., Ulster, Pa. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Sandy Brant, pastor of the Ulster United Methodist Church officiating.
Interment will follow in the Sheshequin Valley Cemetery, Sheshequin Twp., PA
