Lorraine Stalford Chamberlain, 82
Lorraine Stalford Chamberlain, 82, of Burlington, Pa., passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at her home.
Lorraine was born September 16, 1929 in Towanda, Pa., the daughter of Lawrence and Elizabeth Slater Chamberlain. She was a graduate of Troy High School class of 1947 and Pauline’s Beauty School in Elmira, N.Y. In early years, Lorraine managed Sears stores in Virgina and Philadelphia, Pa. and Montgomery Ward Stores in Philadelphia and Williamsport, Pa. She later worked at the Bradford County Library for many years. Lorraine enjoyed craftwork.
Surviving are: step-children: Phyllis Barbur of Towanda, John and Pat Chamberlain of Troy, Kay and Gordon Ford of Towanda; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; cousins: Darleen Slater Hillyard of East Smithfield, William Slater of Victor, N.Y., John McGovern of Florida, and Gloria Slater Firestine of Florida.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Warren “Conn” Chamberlain; brothers and sisters-inlaw, Scott

Lambert.

Agraveside service will be held Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery, Towanda, Pa., with Mr. Lavern Jackson officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Maryott- Bowen Funeral Home, Towanda, Pa. There are no calling hours. Contributions may be directed to the charity or organization of one’s choice in Lorraine’s memory.
