Joyce M. Shelp, 59, of Barton passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 1, 2013.

Joyce was predeceased by her father, Wallace Jarvis.

Joyce is survived by her husband of 34 years, Dennis Shelp; mother, Margaret Jarvis of Owego; children, Julie Shelp of Owego, Heather Shelp of Malta, Heidi Shelp of Clifton Park, Dennis (Kelly) Shelp of Barton, and Toby (Amanda) Shelp of Barton; sisters, Judy Lord of Newark Valley, Janet Beebe of Ithaca, Jody (Mark) Hollenbeck of Candor, and Jane Jarvis of Newark Valley; grandchildren, Kallie, Claire, Christian, Ayden, and Emma; along with several nieces and nephews.

Joyce was a member of the Barton United Methodist Church. She loved spending time with her grand kids, taking walks, enjoying her dogs, trips to Greenwood Park and traveling to Amish country.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at Barton United Methodist Church, 511 Old Barton Road, Barton with the Rev. Alan Bill officiating.
