WYALUSING -- On Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018, beginning at 2 p.m., throughout America and Canada, National Life Chain Sunday will again draw church congregations to their local sidewalks for prayer and public witness.

The mission, now in its 30th year, will focus our minds on the at-risk preborn children in each local area and will join our hearts in prayers for an end to the horror of abortion. Life Chain welcomes all defenders of human life and relies heavily on local pastors who are willing to lead their congregations to their sidewalk locations. A Life Chain is a peaceful and prayerful public witness of pro-life Americans standing for 60 to 90 minutes, praying for an end to abortion.

It is a visual statement of solidarity by the Christain community that the church supports the sanctity of human life from the moment of conception to natural death.

Seven Life Chains will take place simultaneously, as follows: Athens Township, Elmira Street (across from UPS store); Canton, Main Street; Dushore, Main Street; Meshoppen, Route 6; Nichols, West River Road at the state Route 17 exit; Towanda, in front of the county courthouse; and Wyalusing, Route 6 in front of St. Mary's Church.

For further information, interested readers may contact the following coordinators: Athens Township, Rob Howard at (570) 395-3417; Canton, Denny Vermilya at (570) 447-8499; Dushore, Joe and Diane McDonough at (570) 928-9621; Meshoppen, Marilyn Burton at (570) 833-4851; Nichols, Sharon Russell at (570) 247-7438; Towanda, Marie Seibert at (570) 265-3122; and Wyalusing, Marilyn Burke, (570) 746-1280.

Participants will again hold traditional Life Chain signs and will ask God to minister through the signs to change hearts and save precious lives (signs will be provided).

Each Life Chain realizes that deaths from surgical and chemical abortions far exceed the number commonly reported today (about 60 million in the US and about 4.1 million in Canada). Life Chain applies a Code of Conduct and is entirely peaceful.

The Bradford County Pennsylvanians for Human Life holds bi-monthly meetings at Kilmer's Insurance Agency at Route 6 in Wyalusing. For further information, contact Michael Kilmer at (570) 746-9195. You are always welcome to attend.
