House receives Quilt of Valor

Thomas House received a Quilt of Valor on October 31, 2019. Friends and family gathered at his home for the ceremony. Thomas was stationed in the Alaskan territory just 30 miles from the Soviet Union in the 1950s. He helped to set up the Distant Early Warning System which functioned from the Cold War until satellites replaced it. Faye Lubold and Carol Ullo of Bradford County Quilts of Valor provided the award.
