Local Daisy Troop sends cards to WWII veteran

Members of Daisy Troop 60584 recently made Valentine’s Day cards to send to Major Bill White a World War II veteran. The girls also earned their respect authority Daisy petal after discussing what respecting authority meant and who holds authority in our everyday lives. The troop also chatted about Mr. Bill and why they were going to send him cards. Operation Valentine was started by the 104-year-old vet requesting as many cards from around the world as possible. The girls decorated cards using stickers, markers, crayons and their imaginations. Daisy Troop 60584, which is under the direction of Becky Clark, is made up of girls are from Athens, Sayre and Waverly schools and are in kindergarten and first grade. They are a part of the Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways.
