Remembering Brad & raising awareness

The first annual Brad Bailey Memorial Kickball Tournament was held on Saturday as part of Substance Abuse Recovery Month, which seeks to raise awareness of the rising tide of addiction that many families face. All the money raised from the tournament will go to a scholarship at Waverly High School for a graduate who is going to college for human services, according to organizer Lisa Bailey, whose son Brad died last January due to a drug overdose. State Sen. Fred Akshar is pictured here with members of the Bailey family at the tournament.
