Stephen A. Mack, 66, of Waverly, N.Y., passed away unexpectedly on May 25, 2019, at home.
Steve was born in Waverly, N.Y., to Alfred and Genevra (McNaney) Mack on Sept. 19, 1952. In 1971, he graduated from Waverly Jr.-Sr. High School. Steve worked for several years in the Construction Union in Elmira, N.Y., and ultimately retired after 25-plus years of service at GE Railcar (UTLX) in Sayre, Pa., as a Welder, Fabricator and Head of the Maintenance Department.
Steve enjoyed working on cars and was a certified Ford Motor-Head and often spoke fondly of his ‘68 Torino and other Ford hot rods. He absolutely lived his life looking through Ford Blue glasses. He was an avid Ford NASCAR fan, devoted to his kids, grandkids and dogs, and not afraid to say, “I love you.”
“Pops” is survived by his devoted sons, Justin Lee Mack and Benjamin Stephen Mack, both of Waverly, N.Y. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Stephenie Mack, and his precious grandchildren, Camden, Skyler and Adalynne, and Kathy Boehm, the mother of his sons, all from Waverly, N.Y. Steve is also survived by his loving sisters, Pamela Mack (Joseph) Kittle of Nichols, N.Y., and Lori Mack of Milan, Pa., and loyal brother, Gary Mack of Waverly, N.Y., along with several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Steve is also survived by Larry “Stretch” Forbes, his buddy, and his faithful furry companions, Yogi Bear, Runt, Tara, Harry and Dolly.
Stephen was predeceased by his father, Alfred William Mack, in 1982; his mother, Genevra Mae (McNaney) Mack, in 2013; his brother, Lewis Alfred Mack, in 1983; and his twin sister, Deborah Jeanne Bostwick Sandroni, in 2010.
To honor Steve’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral.
