Marilyn J. Kreichbaum, 88, of Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Barton, N.Y., went to be with our Lord on Sunday, April 28, 2019.

Marilyn was born in Waverly, N.Y., and was the daughter of the late Clair and Cleo Shafer. Marilyn graduated from Waverly High School in 1949 and married Richard Kreichbaum in 1950. She worked for The Evening Times newspaper in Sayre, Pa., a job she truly enjoyed. After taking time off to raise her family, in 1976 Marilyn went back to work for the newspaper, working there until she retired. She enjoyed bowling, crafting, oil painting, camping, crossword puzzles and trips to New England and Myrtle Beach. She was a sweet and loving wife and mother.

Marilyn was predeceased by her husband, Richard Kreichbaum, in 2009, and her son-in-law, George Lesko, in 2015.

She is survived by her children, Janet Lesko, Terri (Frank) Roney, Sandy (George) Greeno, and Rich Kreichbaum; her grandchildren, Kristin (Bryan) James, Shane VanVorce, Erin Roney, and Kyle (Mara) Roney; her great-grandchildren, Montanah, Mallet and Mavin James, Cameron and Hannah Mandelbaum, and Jacob and Waverly Roney. Marilyn is also survived by her sister Norma (Richard) Maslin; her sisters-in-law Mary Lou Bluhm and Joan Mahar, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A private celebration of Marilyn’s life and burial at the Tioga Point Cemetery in Athens, Pa., will be held at a later date.
