Family and friends gathered on Thursday, June 13 at 11 a.m. at the Litchfield United Methodist Church to celebrate and remember the life well lived of Barbara Jean Rogers, 82, of Litchfield.

Prelude organ music of Barb’s favorite hymns were played by Donald Ammerman. Pastor Jon Austin welcomed all and reflected on Barb’s life and the special peach pie that Barb made for him when he first started at the church. The congregation joined in singing “Because He Lives” accompanied by Mr. Ammerman on the piano, followed by a prayer and the congregation joining in reciting Psalm 23. A special musical selection of “Amazing Grace” was sung by Barbara’s friend Chris Woodcock. Reflections and fond memories were shared by Barb’s son Shawn. Shawn reflected on the number 138 and sung “On Eagles Wings.” In closing, the congregation sang “The Hymn of Promise” and listened to the song “My Way.” Mr. Ammerman played several closing hymns as those were leaving.

Interment and prayers of committal followed in the Nichols Cemetery.

Following the services, a luncheon and time of sharing was held at the Litchfield Fire Hall.

Caring assistance was provided by the Cooley Family of the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 237 S. Main St. Nichols, www.sutfinfuneralchapel.com.
