Karen Michele Bennett, 47, of Sayre, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at the Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre. Born Oct. 1960 at Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland, she was the daughter of Phyllis Buck Bennett Shaw and the late Kenneth D. Bennett.
Karen moved to the Sayre area over 20 years ago.
She is survived by: her daughter, Kari-Sue Bennett of Sayre; her son, Joseph Bennett, serving with the National Guard in Afghanistan; her granddaughter, Summer “Tootie” Pham of Sayre; her mother, Phyllis Bennett Shaw and her husband Robert Shaw of Windham, Pa.; her sisters, Tami Edwards of Indiana, Sue Spear and her husband Roger Spear of Chesapeake, Va., Jeannie Bishop of Palm Bay, Fla., Sandy Rickabaugh of Melbourne, Fla.; her brother, Kenny Haven of West Melbourne, Fla.; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; her long-time friend, Darren Perry of Sayre.
A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Interment will be private. The Alteri-Bowen Funeral Home, 314 Desmond St., Sayre, is assisting Karen’s family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions may be directed to Stray Haven, 194 Shepard Road, Waverly, in Karen Michele Bennett’s memory.
