    Theodore “Ted” Price, 73, of East River Road, Nichols, passed away at his home on Thursday afternoon, July 3, 2008.
    Ted was born on April 7, 1935 in Barton, N.Y., a son of the late Fred T. and Hazel (Tubbs) Price. For many years Ted worked as an auto mechanic with Don Owen Pontiac, Gault Chevrolet and later owned and operated his own garage. He was an avid NASCAR fan and especially enjoyed watching Dale Earnhart No. 3 and Dale Jr. No. 88. In addition, Ted also enjoyed hunting, competition pistol shooting, snowmobiling and 4-wheeling. Ted was a member of the NRA and the Tioga County Sportsman’s Club.
    He is survived by his wife Anna (Rittell) Price; his children Robert T. (Carol) Price of Waverly, Karen (Hugh) Griffenkranz of Jacksonville, Fla., and James A. (Alicia) Price, Owego; his grandchildren, Ross A. Price, Emily, Dakota and Erica Griffenkranz, and Ericka Culver; and a brother, Fred Price. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
    He was predeceased by his parents; a granddaughter, Gennifer Wade; and a sister-in-law, Martha Price.                 
    Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Sunday, July 6 at 6 p.m. at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 South Main St., Nichols with Deacon Michael Donovan, officiating. A private family interment will be held on Monday, July 7 at the St. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Towanda. A period of visitation and sharing memories will be held on Sunday from 4 p.m. until the time of the service at 6.
