Norman Hatch, Athens, died July 1, 2008 at the age of 86.
Norman was born Aug. 14, 1921 in Smithfield Township Norman. He was the son of the late Vira Hoose and Arthur Hatch of Smithfield Township.
Norman operated farms in Ridgebury and Centerville, Pa., taking tremendous pride in his work. He retired from farming and moved his family to Athens in 1965, retiring from Masonite Corporation in 1990. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. The greatest joys in his life were his family and friends.
Norman was predeceased by: his loving wife, Jeanne in 2005; his parents, Vira and Arthur Hatch; an infant son, John Arthur; his brothers, Donald and Elmer; his sister, Winifred Cole; and a great-granddaughter, Gracie Mae Hatch.
He is survived by: his six children, Norman and Carol Hatch of Wellsburg, N.Y., Lee and Teri Hatch of Brazoria, Texas, Thomas Hatch of Oyster Creek, Texas, Laura (Hatch) and John Kelsall of Sayre, Barbara Hatch of Corning, N.Y., and Dorothy (Clarke) and Wallace Embrey of Lockhart, Texas; 11 grandchildren, Michael and Jennifer Hatch of Pine City, N.Y., Debbie (Hatch) Rafferty of Elmira, N.Y., Heather (Hatch) and Harris Vaughan of Chesapeake, Va., Lyndz and Michael Hatch of Leraysville, Pa., Dakota Hatch of Oyster Creek, Texas, Dana and Devin Kelsall of Athens, Quay (Hatch) and Aaron Wells of Corning, N.Y., Brittney Hatch of Corning, N.Y., and Seth Hatch of Sayre; eight great-grandchildren, Landyn and Rylee Hatch of Pine City, N.Y., Brionna and Shane Rafferty of Elmira, N.Y., Caleb and Riley Wells of Corning, N.Y., and twins Lena and Ashlynn Vaughan of Chesapeake, Va.; his sister, Lewella Rogers of Canaseraga, N.Y.; his sister-in-law, Dorothy Kulman of Bastrop, Texas; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
At the request of the deceased there will be no calling hours. A time of sharing will be held at a later date. Private burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
