    William G. Walmsley, 68, of S. Keystone Ave., Sarye passed away at home with his loving and caring family at his side, Wednesday, July 2, 2008 following a courageous battle with cancer.
    Bill as he was affectionately known by his family and friends was born on August 6, 1939 in Sayre, Pa., the son of the late Phillip and Evelyn (Thompson) Walmsley. Bill proudly served his country with the U.S. Army. A dedicated and hard worker, Bill was employed by Millbrook Bakery in Elmira and retired from Strohman’s Bakery in 2002. He enjoyed hunting, spending time with his family and always looked forward to an outing to visit the casino.
    Bill is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary (Nichols) Walmsley; daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Lee Henry, Cindy Townsand, Tinia Walmsley and companion Pete Dennison, Becky and Mark Williams, and Barbara and Andy Forrest; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; andhis sibilings, Phyllis and George Ulincy, Jack and Emma Walmsley, Rodney and Marge Walmsley. Several nieces, nephews, and many friends also survive.
    Bill was predeceased by his parents; a brother Charles “Dick” Walmsley. 
    Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service and celebration of his life on Monday, July 7 at 4 p.m. at the Sayre Christian Church, with the Rev. James Donahoo officiating. A period of visitation and sharing memories will be held on Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the church. Memories and condolences may also be shared by visiting our Web site at www.tiogapointcremation.com.
