Barbara E. Smith, 75, of Sayre, Pa. passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2008 at the Robert Packer Hospital following a brief illness.
She was born October 22,1932 in Modesto, Calif. the daughter of Harry Bennett and Mary Trauntvine Bennett.
Barbara graduated from Sayre High School in the Class of 1950. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Fred, on Feb. 11, 1995 and her brother, Jerry Canfield.
Barbara is survived by her children, Ronald and Michelle Smith of Waverly, N.Y.; David and Melissa Smith of New Smryna Beach, Fla.; James and Susan Smith of Burlington, Pa., and Susan and Wayne Jones of San Antonio, Texas; her grandchildren, Keesha Smith of Sayre, Pa., Alycia Wheeler of Waverly, N.Y., Jory Smith of Edgewater, Fla., Sarah Fierro of Oceanside, Calif., Christian Jones of San Antonio, Texas and Bethany Jones of San Antonio, Texas; her great-grandchild, Addyson Wheeler of Waverly, N.Y., her sister, Edna White of Roanoke, Va. and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends and family may call on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008 from 10  a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home, Inc., 225 South Main St., Athens, Pa. Funeral services will follow at 11:30 a.m. with the Rev. Anne Bey Canfield from the Waverly United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Bradford County Memorial Park.
