Pauline F. McIntire, 89, of Athens, Pa., passed away on July 5, 2008.
She was born Pauline Frances Chamberlain on June 23, 1919 at the family home in Milan, Pa., to Paul and Cora Rogers Chamberlain.
Pauline graduated from Athens High School in 1937. Her life was spent being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved sewing and needlework and created many beautiful pieces for her family and friends. Pauline worked for the Athens Area School District in the cafeterias for 12 years and retired in 1981.
She is predeceased by her parents and one granddaughter Tracey Kay Bourdette.
Pauline is survived by her husband of 68 years, Merle McIntire, and her brother, Roger Chamberlain, Milan, Pa. Merle and Pauline married on January 26, 1940. They have three daughters, Carol (Dale) Bourdette, Lake Wales, Fla., Connie (Terry) Cockcroft, Athens, Pa., and Barbara (David) Battishill, Waverly, N.Y.; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and many other extended family members.
Friends and family may call at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home Inc., 225 South Main St., Athens, on Tuesday, July 8, 2008 from 1-2 p.m. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home at 2 p.m.
