HARRISBURG — The Pennsylvania High School Softball Coaches Association has spoken and two local softball players have picked up second-team All-State honors for their work on the field in 2019.
Emma Adams and Megan Bennett, two of the Times top softball award winners this season have taken home state honors from the state’s coaches association.
An Albany University-bound senior, Adams picked up the award as an outfielder. Adams finished the season with a .564 batting average and had eight doubles, seven home runs and two triples among her 31 hits. Adams had an on-base average or .642 and a slugging percentage of 1.127 for an OPS of 1.769.
Bennett made the grade as a pitcher. A junior, Bennett had an ERA of 0.900 across 104 1/3 innings and fanned 149 batters with just 18 walks.
