The Athens American Legion Post 246 had three baseball games over the last few days and now stand at 5-2.
Sunday, June 29
Mansfield 10, Athens 3
    Pitching for Mansfield were Rumsey and Weiskoff who combined for nine strikeouts and two hits with Fuller catching. Top hitters for Mansfield were Rumsey with a grand slam and Strange with a three-run double.
    Athens’ Anthony Villanti, Cody May, Pat Lasko and Colin Repasky pitched for a combined four strikeouts. Top hitters were Eric Secor with a double and Villanti with a single.
Tuesday, July 1
Athens 11, Canton 1
    Pitching for Athens was Eric Wells with three strikeouts while May was catcher. Hitters were Shane Raupers with two hits, one of which was a triple. Brian Osborn had two hits with one being a triple, May had a double and Secor and Taylor Skerpon had one hit each.
    Canton’s Peterson, Lee and Schuker pitched for a combined two strikeouts with Perry Catching. The top hitter was Lee with two hits.
Wednesday, July 2
Athens 14, Northeast Bradford 1
    Pitching for Athens was Pat Lasko and Bruce Osborn who combined for four strikeouts with Wells catching.
    Hitters were Skerpon with two doubles, Wells with a double, Bruce Osborn with a triple, Brian Osborn; Matt Rowe and Raupers with two hits and May, Repasky and Secor with a hit each.
    Northeast’s Gobble and Wheaton pitched with Geiser catching. Mallow was the top hitter with two hits.
    Athens will play at Tioga on Monday at 6 p.m.
