WELLSBORO — Tioga Country Club played hard to get Wednesday, sending Northern Tier League golfers’ scores soaring. In the end, Mansfield’s squad had the most consistent day, with four players breaking 100, to win the event with a combined score of 472.

Joining Lewis and Coats with sub-90 scores were freshman Gavin Howe of Northern Tioga with an 86, his teammate, Dustin Bogazyck with an 87, Towanda’s Pat Henderson with an 87 and Brian Kennedy of Athens with an 88.
Towanda was second on the day with a total score of 481 with Athens right behind at 485 and the host Hornets at 489. Northern Tioga finished with a team score of 517, Sayre, led by twin 98s by Bill Kozemko and Mike Gleockner, was next with a 542 and Northeast Bradford rounded out the field.
