The Athens Little League 9-10 year old All-stars began games in the Battone Tournament on Saturday with a huge no-hitter game and 23-1 win against Waverly.
Pitching for Athens was Austin Lister who pitched all four innings and had nine strikeouts and five walks.
Zach Sheppeck led Athens in hits with two doubles, two singles and a seven RBI.
Matt Collins added a double, a single and three RBI; Lister had two singles and an RBI; Parker May had a single and two RBI; Sam Perri, Shane Colegrove and Zach Sitzman had a single and an RBI apiece and Aaron Barry added a single.
Pitching for Waverly was Gavin Bennett who pitched three innings and had three strikeouts.
Athens 11, Big Flats 0
Athens continued on its road of wins with a big 11-0 win against Big Flats on Sunday.
Barry pitched five innings with five strikeouts and two walks.
Barry pulled double duty and did so with a homerun and two RBI. Collins added a double, a single and three RBI; May had a double, single and an RBI; Fauver had a double; Sheppeck had a single and an RBI; Segar added a single and Lister had an RBI.
Athens will play again at the Waverly Little League B field on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
