The Quarter Stix continued their quest to be the best by finishing in second place in the 16U bracket at the Horseheads Invitational on July 19-20.
    The Stix stuck to the formula of tough defense, stellar pitching and key hits enroute to the championship game. They finished the season with two first place finishes and two second place finished out of the last five full tournaments.
    The Quarter Stix softball team will travel to Salem, Virginia for the National’s on July 30 until August 3 where over 100 teams will compete.
    The 2008 Quarter Stix team are girls from Troy, Canton, Towanda, Bradford County, Owego and Conklin.
