The Athens Little League majors All-star team fell to Troy 8-4 on Sunday and ended up in second place in the district.
    Troy scored their runs with three in the second and third innings and one in the fourth and fifth innings.
    Athens scored one in the first and fourth innings and attempted a comeback in the sixth inning with two more runs, but were cut short.
    Pitching for Athens was Jensen Dunkling. Dunkling tallied up three strikeouts and three walks with Mackenzie Hafer catching.
    Hafer led her team with two singles and an RBI. Kiersten Horton added a single and an RBI and Dunkling, Abbie Beck and Elyse Skerpon each had a single.
    Pitching for Troy was Bethany Manley with four strikeouts and seven walks. Kelly Bridgeham was catcher.
    Hitters were Tiffany Mattocks with a double and Kendra Kase, Amanda Jones, Kelly Bristol and Sarah Hunsinger with a one single apiece.
