Cat Hursh continued her time at the Empire State Games on Saturday by competing in the 4X100 and the triple jump.
Hursh teamed up with Desiree Allen of Utica, Gina Campagna of Cicero and Krystal Boyd of Syracuse to come just shy of a bronze medal and placed fourth with a time of 52.23.
“It was different (competing in the Empire State Games) and it was fun to compete against people you’ve never competed against before,” said Hursh.
When it came to Hursh competing in the triple jump, she just wasn’t too happy with her eighth place performance and jump of 9.84.
Hursh said that she feels that she wasn’t focusing enough on the triple jump because she was thinking about her upcoming 4x100 race.
“I wasn’t really nervous, I was just concentrating more on my other race,” said Hursh.
When asked if she planned on competing again next year, Hursh wasn’t sure what her plans would be.
The Empire State Games is considered the largest competition of its kind in the nation.
