Athens Minors Little League softball All-stars topped Tunkhannock on Tuesday 12-6 to advance to another game on Saturday.
Miranda Peterson had a busy game with pitching 12 strikeouts and only six walks and then taking to the plate and adding two triples, two singles and two runs to help give her team the win.
Catcher Morgan Malawski had four singles and a demanding five runs. Aleah Dudash and Sarah Munn each had two singles with Munn adding two runs. Kassandra Winters added a single and two runs, Taylor Johnson and Ariana Lesser had a single and a run each and Lindsey Willis added a single. Melissa Lantz and Carissa Reed each had a run.
Haley Melan and Kristin Murray pitched and had a combined five strikeouts and 13 walks with Rachel Phinney catching.
Hitters were Kaitlyn Mitchell with a triple and a run, Lexi Tinna with a double and two runs, Melan with a double and a run, Morgan Dodge with a double, Allison Weatherbee and Murray with a single and a run each and Jesse Ide and Madelin Burgess with a single apiece.
