PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A 12-year-old boy was killed by a bullet shot through the front door of a northeast Philadelphia home, authorities said.

The boy was shot shortly before 3 a.m. Sunday in the Frankford neighborhood and was pronounced dead minutes later at the scene, police said.

Police said their preliminary information indicates that the youth went to his front door and someone shot through the crescent moon glass of the door, striking him in the forehead.

No arrests were immediately reported.
